Hi, I was browsing google for photos of hairy woodpeckers, and came apon you blog. I really enjoy it. I work at the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Roseville Minnesota. I am there once a week as a volunteer. I care for many of the birds you have photographed here. I get to see them up close and personal. They are spectacular animals. I worked with a trumpeter swan this week along with many song and water birds. I was looking for a hairy woodpecker to put on my blog. A young one was just pecking away at my hand and fingers as I tried to clean his cage and feed him. I was glad he was a baby. No harm done. I have a blog at

mostly it is about my life, but I do blog on the animals I care for. I also have many adopted animals too.
Thanks for such a beautiful blog.
Sincerely, Kirsten (K~)
