Red Bellied Woodpecker Photos

Sometimes it's tough deciding which photos to post. The red bellied woodpecker, also known as Mr. Spectacular, is a favorite. He spent an hour posing in different trees.

Info & pictures of common New Jersey birds: the woodpecker, cardinal, king fisher, warbler, robin, tufted titmouse, finch, mallard, cormorant, baby ducks, grebe, goose, cat bird, sapsucker, northern flicker, chickadee, merganser, hawk, heron, hairy woodpecker & goldfinch plus muskrat, groundhog & beaver. Many photos were taken at Lake Nelson in Piscataway, NJ and others in NJ bird spots: Cape May, the Meadowlands, and Sandy Hook or vacations in Florida, California and the Caribbean.

Our favorite NJ bird photos include Hairy Woodpeckers, the Black Crowned Night Heron, King Fisher, Bluebird, Cedar waxwing, Cormorant, the Kestrel, the Goldfinch- The State Bird of New Jersey, the Red-bellied Woodpecker, the Mute Swan, a Baby Blue Jay, the Great Egret, Great Blue Heron, a Downy Woodpecker, baby ducks and baby geese.

I am in New Hampshire. I saw this type of woodpecker for the 1st time yesterday at my suet feeder. Have many other kinds. Had to look this one up! Catherine
We just moments ago saw a pair of these in our backyard. We are in New Brunswick, Canada... Near Moncton. Great pics!
