Orange House Finch from Palm Springs
We didn't know house finches can be orange. Males can be orange, yellow or red. The color comes from pigments in the food they eat.

Our favorite NJ bird photos include Hairy Woodpeckers, the Black Crowned Night Heron, King Fisher, Bluebird, Cedar waxwing, Cormorant, the Kestrel, the Goldfinch- The State Bird of New Jersey, the Red-bellied Woodpecker, the Mute Swan, a Baby Blue Jay, the Great Egret, Great Blue Heron, a Downy Woodpecker, baby ducks and baby geese.
