Blue-Winged Warbler

Early morning at Lord Sterling Park, Basking Ridge

Royal Tern, Lavallette

Note the band on this bird’s leg. Taken on the bay side, it was with another adult and a juvenile.

Male Pileated Woodpecker

I discovered a nesting pair in a tall dead tulip tree in my yard in Bernardsville this Spring. Over the course of a month or so, I watched as the pair successfully raised a pair of young.

Blue Heron In Front Of Waterfall: Photo by Joe

I took this shot with my canon 7D, 70-200 2.8 IS, a ND filter, and a tripod. F14 at 1.6s at 200mm. I went to the Paulinskill Lake to take pictures of the falls and he happened to be there. What a great surprise. I hope you enjoy the picture as much as I enjoyed taking it.

Thank you,

Joe

Barn Swallows: Photos by Jim's wife

Just wanted to share this photo with you.
My wife took it yesterday in our back yard with her new camera.
They are barn swallows that return every year to the same box.

Horned Grebe in Winter Plumage: Photo contributed by Chris

A couple days ago I spotted this little fellow fighting the windy waves in Lake Musconetcong. I'd never seen him before, and after a bit of research determined that he's a Horned Grebe. During one of his dives I managed to sneak up on him before he turned tail and swam further out to the center of the lake.
